Job descriptionLeading a Team of Service Assurance technicians to enforce quality controls, in line with Caterpillar repair standards. Achievement of quality turnaround targets. Resolving internal customer queries. Effective control of cost centre expenses and WIP. Ensuring effective communication between team and management. Ensuring service work (Caterpillar components) is carried out in compliance with quality standards (OEM Guidelines). Apply warranty policies and procedures; this includes warranty decisions and service warranty investigations. Ensuring outputs of service audits are achieved. Apply Barloworld Equipment leadership philosophy. Achievement of a team environment that enables adherence to quality standard and process efficiency standards. Competency development of team. On the job supervision – safety of team. Reporting of team Key Performance Indicators and prospects. Driving QFR action and closure end-to-end process. Quality gates management within technical processes. Non-conformance management – regions and internal. Checklist ownership and management. Take ownership and manage all 2.6.1 appointment responsibilities. Management of ICRF workshop in terms of SHEQ requirements. Ensure CC / SOR compliance. Grade 12. Trade Test qualified in relevant trade (e.g., Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving). Minimum of 6 years’ experience as Caterpillar General Mechanic post apprenticeship or learner ship experience. Minimum of 4 years Caterpillar Component rebuild experience with substantial troubleshooting exposure (post Qualification). Well familiar with failure analysis and re-useability guidelines on components. Experienced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on Earthmoving Equipment Components. Well embedded Component specific technical knowledge and skills. Familiar with Dyno and Hydraulic testbench operation and troubleshooting. Sound interpersonal and communication skills. Good technical report writing skills. Basic business and financial understanding. Computer literate and good business writing knowledge. Good knowledge of Caterpillar machine and product knowledge. Valid Driver’s License.
