SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
SACAP is looking to employ an Academic Support Advisor for the Johannesburg Campus. This role will provide a full range of academic support and development services to ensure students are empowered to realize their academic success. The role will also connect students’ academic interests with their personal and career ambitions. This role strongly liaises with the Student Administration team, the Academic team and reports directly to the Academic Support Manager.
Duties
- Providing academic support and development to SACAP’s students
- Acting as a point of contact for all academic support and development needs
- Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
- Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
- Monitoring student academic performance and engagement
- Tracking and documenting national academic support and development metrics
- Study plans and career guidance
- Academic one‑on‑one counselling
- Awareness / advocacy campaigns re : academic issues
- Facilitating peer support and peer‑assisted learning
- Identifying at‑risk students and tracking retention
- Utilizing SACAP’s Student Management System in order to provide expert guidance to SACAP students
Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of an Honours Degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology, Coaching, Business Management, Leadership; or at least 5‑years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic resultsAdvanced computer literacy skills, including online systems2 years of full‑time experience, preferably within the field of Higher EducationPersonal Attributes

Full‑time position operating from Mondays to Fridays :
Monday – Thursday : 08 : 30 – 17 : 00
Friday : 08 : 30 – 16 : 00
Note that you will be required to administer various student support webinars during the evenings, and / or attend Open Days from time to time, and therefore flexible hours do apply.
