BURSAR

Pridwin , founded in 1923, is situated in Melrose, Johannesburg. It is an inter‑denominational independent preparatory school for boys from Grade 0-7 and is a member of the Independent School’s Association of South Africa. Pridwin has a special ethos which we would particularly wish to nurture – that of a small family school where each boy is enabled to achieve his full potential academically, culturally, socially and physically.

We are seeking a dynamic Bursar to report directly to the Headmaster and ensure the financial sustainability of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Headmaster and Board on all non‑academic operations.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee and be responsible for asset management, budgeting, scenario planning, and compliance with financial regulations.
• Debtors’ management, fee collection and reconciliation.
• Processing and reconciliation of payroll.
• Managing & updating of employee records and personal information.
• Ensure financial policies, cash flow, and procurement practices align with budget and school objectives.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and advise on capital projects and infrastructure improvements.
• Ensure compliancy with Employment Equity, skills development and POPIA.
