Overview
The Electrical and Automation Specialist will be required to drive customer support by ensuring processes and systems are in place and feedback from field personnel and customers are handled in a structured and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Product Support Lead for Electrical and Automation.
- Evaluating and implementation of support structure.
- Upskilling / training of support personnel.
- Component failure investigations.
- Machine preparedness, commissioning and analysis.
- New Machine and prototype trials.
- Machine compliance and standard adherence.
- Customer communications and technical support.
- Documentation and records.
- Maintenance, service and repair process management.
- Report quality issues and non-conformance.
- Machine Field Analysis : assess operating functionality, ergonomics and safety risks; participate in time-and-motion studies to improve productivity; perform reliability assessments and design / system durability checks; engineering fault finding and failure analysis with recommendations to Engineering; improve maintenance and service processes and advise on service kit BOMs.
- Close-out reports and follow-up activities; maintain records and ensure document control; monitor new technologies relevant to the Hard Rock underground mining industry.
Product Knowledge / Capabilities
In-depth knowledge of the product range allocated to the portfolio including product design, functionality, operation, service and maintenance.Sub-con product knowledge.Skills in root cause and gap analysis; report writing and other administrative tasks; ability to train; ability to communicate across all levels.Understanding of competitor products; ability to grasp new technologies; good understanding of principles.Machine Preparedness & Field Analysis
Assist with scope analysis for new machines and support the Capital Sales team in assessing scope and monitoring scope compliance during machine production.Participate in machine inspections before release to site.Record data collected in the field for analysis and future reference; perform market comparisons on machine performance and reliability.Maintenance, Service & Repairs
Design improved processes to perform maintenance and repairs; advise on service kit BOMs; submit RTD requests; provide design feedback to facilitate maintenance and service.Warranty : perform root-cause-analysis on failures and assist in improving the warranty process; assist with design parameters for work procedures, labor and travel cost allocation against warranty claims.Customer Technical Support
Perform machine audits and assessments; fault finding and root cause analysis; assist with design of aftermarket customer machine care programs.Engage with mine engineers regularly to discuss machine performance, audit findings and solutions; attend mine OEM meetings and production / planning meetings as needed; perform machine health scans to determine reliability status.Communication & Documentation
Support dealers and stakeholders with machine-related technical information; roll out machine updates to customers and internal / external stakeholders; conduct regular customer surveys and follow-up visits; keep stakeholders informed of improvements, updates, upgrades and changes.Submit quality reports, maintain good records, ensure document control; complete and submit high-quality Findings and Close-out reports.Monitor new technologies and methods in the Hard Rock underground mining industry and share value-add findings with stakeholders.Documentation and Records : complete risk assessments; submit technical reports; submit customer call reports; file records in central location; track components and timelines for warranty close-outs within 60 days; manage information flow and document access; ensure documents comply with branding standards.Project & Change Management
New machines, prototypes, alternative parts, modifications, upgrades and additions to be tested in the field; initiation, design, installation and closing of upgrade and improvement proposals and projects.Costing and estimating of parts, material, labour and other costs; planning, control and management of project execution using approved tools and processes; keep records and measure performance against KPIs.Change management : ensure all documents and processes are in place for changes affecting customers and the support team; facilitate handover of updated processes and documentation.Qualifications

Excellent understanding of low, medium & high voltage circuits on TMM.Excellent fault-finding skills on TMM.Panel wiring experience on TMM.Experience with automation and programming of TMM will be advantageous.Soft Skills
