Requirements

Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification that allows registration as an independent Practitioner. No experience required after registration as a Medical Practitioner. Must have completed Community Service. Current registration with HPCSA as medical practitioner. Work experience in the field of Anaesthesia. CMSA part 1 examinations; auxiliary courses relevant to the field of Anaesthesia will be an added advantage.

Duties

Provide Anaesthesia services to patients at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital. Willing to work longer hours. Teach and train medical students and theatre staff. Participate in research activities, departmental academic program and quality assurance.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification must furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Applicants with foreign qualifications remain responsible for ensuring that their qualifications are evaluated by the SAQA. Registrars will be required to rotate between the different institutions. Preference will be given to South African citizens. The performance of normal and commuted overtime is not mandatory, however it will be based on the operational needs of the hospitals.
