A company is seeking a Dispatch Operator in a retail or warehouse setting is responsible for coordinating the outgoing movement of goods — ensuring that all products are accurately picked, packed, verified, and dispatched to stores, customers, or delivery routes. The role supports efficient logistics operations and maintains accurate inventory records while upholding company quality and safety standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Dispatch Operators – Meat Matrix knowledge and experience. Picking and packing, manage orders through meat matrix system, load and unload the chillers fridge,
Prepare and process dispatch documentation (delivery notes, invoices, packing lists).
Coordinate and control the loading and dispatch of goods from the warehouse or back store.
Verify that all goods being dispatched match order sheets (quantity, item codes, and quality).
Ensure that packaging and labeling comply with company standards and customer requirements.
Schedule and liaise with drivers, storemen, and delivery teams to ensure on-time deliveries.
Record dispatched stock and update inventory management systems.
Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Warehouse or Logistics Supervisor.
Ensure dispatch area is kept clean, safe, and organized for efficient workflow.
Assist with stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.
Follow health, safety, and hygiene protocols in compliance with company and legal requirements.
Communicate effectively with the receiving end (stores, clients, branches) to confirm delivery or resolve issues.

Computer literacy — experience with ERP, WMS, or POS systems (advantageous).

Physically fit to handle movement of boxes or pallets when needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
Certificate or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Operations (advantageous).
Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or logistics role — preferably within retail or FMCG.
Experience with handheld scanners or computerized dispatch systems is beneficial.
Valid forklift or driver’s license can be an added advantage depending on the company setup.
Working Conditions
Based in a warehouse, store back-end, or dispatch bay area.
May involve long hours, shift work, weekends, and public holidays.
Requires adherence to PPE and safety procedures in loading zones.
