Compensation

Package : R228 321.00 – R268 950.00 per annum + benefits

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (Standard 10, NQF Level 4, N3).
  • Diploma or Degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies or related field is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of communication, sound interpersonal relations, project‑planning skills, ability to prepare reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; computer literate.
  • Valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Duties

  • Formulate and implement information and communication strategies to promote mutual understanding between the hospital and community.
  • Coordinate outreach and marketing activities on behalf of Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital and the Gauteng Department of Health.
  • Manage hospital resources for public education, public relations, media services and stakeholder relations efficiently.
  • Drive and coordinate the generation of positive news for various media platforms and formats, including corporate publications, media statements, electronic media, social media, visual and audio, and live interviews.
  • Plan and support internal liaison activities to keep staff informed of institutional developments.
  • Provide communication support to departmental events and activities, ensuring adequate marketing materials and publications.
  • Publish quarterly internal newsletters and coordinate annual open‑day events.
  • Manage day‑to‑day information sharing, update notice boards, prepare and distribute media statements, and manage hospital social media platforms.
  • Provide photo coverage at events, implement the social media strategy in line with the departmental corporate identity manual.
  • Assist in secretarial duties and liaise between the hospital board.
