Our client in the facilities management, cleaning and security industry is looking for a Financial Manager based in Durban to manage and improve the organization’s financial performance. The role includes managing accounting records, evaluating and mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating the external audit process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire financial function and exercise authority through delegation, staff counseling, staff recruitment and disciplinary processes, and liaison with department heads.
- Close month-ends and prepare financial reports.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze financial data and raise escalation where necessary.
- Monitor internal controls.
- Update cash flow weekly on a consolidated basis.
- Sign off on capex requirements.
- Ensure all payment authorisations comply with the authorisation matrix.
- Coordinate cash management with the Management Accountant, including banking platform usage.
- Prepare monthly group uploads to ECC and ensure conformity with MANCO formats.
- Consolidate BU reporting in group format for all UAE entities.
- Provide board reporting support for annual and Mid‑Year reporting.
- Oversee and prepare income statements.
- Approve recruitments and recoverability as authorised.
- Conduct group financial analysis as necessary.
- Analyze working capital across UAE BU’s.
- Manage financial transactions.
- Review costings and rate cards with the Management Accountant on bids and tender requests.
- Sign off on site P&L’s with the Management Accountant.
- Administer SAP B1 module, including staff issues.
- Authorize journal entries.
- Approve credit notes in SAP.
- Sign off on monthly income reconciliation.
- Streamline accounting functions and operations.
- Evaluate and manage risk.
- Facilitate and oversee audit processes for the company’s UAE entities, including internal, external and compliance reviews.
- Administer staff leave requests and workflow coordination through the Management Accountant.
- Provide finance staff training where required.
- Review all statutory calculations and submit to Dubai Labour Dept’s, Dubai Economic Departments and Federal Tax Authority.
- Provide complex transactional support (IFRS16 across SA BU’s, IFRS9, IAS38, IAS16, goodwill impairment analysis (UAE only), other IFRS‑related items).
- Conduct monthly payroll audits and sign off on payday.
- Review capex and wage comparison / variance analysis.
- Report to executive management.

Education : CA(SA).Work experience : Completion of SAICA articles and experience in a managerial role.Attitude : Conducive to empowerment and development of team cohesion.Adherence : SAICA code of conduct and organization policies and processes.Salary : R60,000 – R65,000 per month.
