Our client is a family-owned and run export trading business based in Durban that has been in existence for the last 51 years. They specialize in the export of FMCGs, fruit and vegetables, wines, and building materials to about 55 countries throughout the world. They have subsidiary businesses in various other countries they are involved in.
We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned financial professional with a passion for navigating the complexities of a diverse and exciting export market to join the team. Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Strategy and Planning :
Develop and implement the organization's financial strategy and long-term financial planning.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Manage the budgeting process, working with department heads to set financial targets and monitor performance against budgets.
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization's liquidity needs are met.
Identify and assess financial risks, such as market volatility, credit risk, and operational risk.
Evaluate investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and minimize tax liabilities.
Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
Conduct financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis and financial modeling, to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulators, investors, and financial institutions.
Manage and mentor the finance team.
Ensure compliance with all financial and legal requirements, including regulatory filings and reporting.
Implement and oversee financial management systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
