Overview
Canonical is hiring a Product Manager - Industrial Sector Lead . Location : Remote within the EMEA region (preferably within the region).
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to global enterprises. Ubuntu is widely used in cloud, data science, AI, engineering, and IoT initiatives. The company has 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries with few office-based roles; teams meet in person 2–4 times per year to align on strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead the lifecycle of the product development for the Industrial sector, reviewing priorities and goals for the product you are responsible for.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to address cross-project challenges, align on priorities, enable informed decisions, and keep business execution on track.
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities and ensure alignment with Canonical's overall vision.
- Communicate the product vision, status updates, and key decisions to ensure alignment and manage expectations.
- Conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback, and iterate on the product to improve the user experience.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and support to develop go-to-market strategies, create product documentation, and provide training.
- Contribute to the success of the sales team by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
What we are looking for in you
Strong academic background (high school and university).Experience in product management in technical domains related to open source software usage or management.Solid knowledge of Industry 4.0, IoT, and edge computing technologies.Excellent writing and presentation skills; strong commercial acumen for pricing and product strategy.Understanding of physical compute (servers, networking, storage).Knowledge of industrial open source software (e.g., IoT frameworks, OPC UA, EdgeX Foundry, ROS) and industrial automation platforms.Understanding of open source infrastructure projects (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenStack); solid knowledge of Linux and the wider OSS community, including Ubuntu offerings.Passion for writing about technologies and tech landscape with curiosity; strong ownership and problem-solving mindset.Very good English communication skills, both verbal and written.Willingness to travel up to 4 times per year for internal events.What we offer
