Role Purpose
The responsibility of the Regional Sales Manager will be to oversee the overall growth and profitability in the DivisionRequirements
Relevant tertiary qualificationRelevant Insurance qualifications, minimum 120 NQF credits and completed RE level 4Post graduate degree or diploma in Marketing, management, Trade, insurance and or finance are an advantageAt least 3 years Insurance experience including sales and UnderwritingAt least 1 years claims experienceProven successful track record in showing good growth and profitability in a similar positionBeing able to source new brokers and identify new opportunitiesStrong negotiating and persuasive skillsAbility to adapt to change and to work under pressure, and meet deadlinesAnalysing business, profitability and broker portfoliosAbility to manage internal and external conflict and to be able to find solutions to problems and to implementNetworking on all levels internally and externallyProven ability to motivate staffBilingual preferableBeing able to create presentations and to different audiencesMust be Information technology driven and comfortable with different operating packages including Excel, PowerPoint and WordMust be completely competent and efficient on Tial and possess the ability to train brokers and staffDuties & Responsibilities
Provide underwriters with an underwriting guidanceProvide the underwriters with rating guidanceConduct product training in the regionsProvide technical assistance and support to the regions and to brokersProvide technical information on new products and developments to the marketing department for broker distributionUndertake technical audits in both underwriting (and claims) and ensuring adherence to underwriting limits as per the authorised mandatesProvide product summaries for publishing on the web-site or in the brochureMaintain the product on TialDraft, maintain and enhance the policy wordingAssist regions with major renewalsIdentify and assisting regions in correcting unprofitable portfoliosAssist claims department on complex claimsAssist RI department in accessing appropriate reinsuranceCommunicate market developments to regionsAssist with Product developmentAssess new product approval requestsCheck quotes on TialBuild key relationships with brokers in the market placeMonitor growth and profitability of book of businessCompetencies
Must have good working knowledge and understanding of the insurance industryMust have good knowledge of Insurance legislation and complianceComprehensive knowledge of the Divisions productsMust have a strong knowledge and experience in claims handling process and procedures,Division underwriting mandates, rates and proceduresMust have / gain a good understanding of financials, treaties and Risk management procedures and exposureDeadline : 4th September,2025
