Responsibilities
The Production Manager’s primary function is to manage employees and various operations within the Production Division. The duties will include but not be limited to :
- Manage timesheet and attendance records.
- Motivates team.
- Ensures resources are used effectively so that maximum productivity is achieved.
- Ensure that all machinery and equipment are checked to be safe and in good working order.
- Report all faults to the necessary departments.
- Planning of daily commodities.
- Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to.
- Identifying the need for preventative maintenance of the machines within the department.
- Plans processing of material for particular requirements.
- Attends meetings (Safety & Production).
- Facilitates Health & Safety Toolbox Talks.
- PPE – Ensure that all PPE regulations are adhered to before work begins.
- Adheres to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.
- Ensures that all Employees’ Written Task Procedures are up to date and that they have been explained by the Manager and that Employee understands the contents thereof.
- Ensures that operators have the necessary Licenses & permits where necessary.
- Ensure that general housekeeping is attended to.
Qualifying Experience
Grade 12 certificate or equivalent2 – 5 years supervisory experienceKnowledge of maintenance planningKnowledge of production planningKnowledge of Health and Safety regulationsWillingness to work overtime and night shift as and when requiredPrevious experience in a physically demanding working environment would be advantageousQualifying Attributes
