They are seeking a stable and detail-oriented Customs Entry Clerk to join their expanding team.
Duties:
- Framing and processing customs entries for seafreight imports and ad hoc airfreight shipments.
- Handling the customs clearance process for predominantly import shipments.
- Framing and processing customs entries for ad hoc export roadfreight shipments into BLNS countries (Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Eswatini).
- Ensuring customs documentation is accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Liaising with internal departments, customs authorities and service providers to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
- Monitoring shipment statuses and resolving customs-related queries and delays.
- Maintaining accurate customs records and documentation.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience framing customs entries within a clearing and forwarding environment (non-negotiable).
- ShipShape experience (non-negotiable).
- Sound knowledge of customs procedures and import/export regulations.
- Experience handling seafreight imports is essential.
- Exposure to export roadfreight shipments into BLNS countries would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
