Job description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop, implement and manage the HRD function by ensuring that all operational objectives are met through liaison between Line Management and HRD.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/NQF4 equivalent is essential
- Level 5 ETDP qualification is essential
- Assessor/Moderator qualification is essential
- Trade Certificate is essential
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a supervisory position within the mining environment is essential
- Must have a valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
COMPETENCIES:
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Analysing and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Assists with implementation of new technology by ensuring that employees acquire necessary skills and knowledge.
- Assists line management by implementing effective ad hoc training interventions when identified (Follow-up training, Reporting & Recommendations).
- Coordinates, controls and ensures compliance within the ISO and SETA requirements.
- Effectively manages and monitors all HRD systems.
- Communicates all new and changed standards and procedures to employees and line management.
- Conducts effective needs analysis with regards to client/line management processes and systems.
- Manages additional training for the prevention and uplifting of section 54s.
- Coordinates training related issues and any instructions and recommendations from the DMRE.
- Manages all trainees to ensure that the experiential training process is effective.
