Process Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a contract Process Mechanical Engineer to optimize and improve existing mechanical systems and processes at their facility in Rustenburg . This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, reliability, and safety within the operational framework. You will be responsible for analyzing process data, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending engineering solutions to enhance performance. This is a critical role for driving operational excellence and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mechanical processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and output.
• Design and implement modifications to machinery and equipment to enhance performance and reduce downtime.
• Develop and execute testing plans to validate the effectiveness of process improvements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the operations and maintenance teams.
• Ensure all process modifications comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Document process changes, performance metrics, and recommendations for future enhancements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in process engineering, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics , heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with process simulation and modeling software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
