About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in heavy machinery to join their team in Rustenburg . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and assemblies.
• Perform stress analysis , fatigue analysis, and kinematic simulations to validate design integrity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during prototype testing and production phases.
• Document designs thoroughly, including technical specifications, BOMs, and drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the heavy equipment or industrial machinery sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software and basic knowledge of CAE/FEA tools.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to heavy machinery (e.g., welding, casting, machining).
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment , balancing remote tasks with on-site collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
