About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join their team based in Benoni . This role is essential for the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient and effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for various projects. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with relevant standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building systems, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, to contribute to a sustainable and comfortable built environment through innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify HVAC systems , including air handling units, chillers, boilers, and distribution networks.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system simulations to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Develop detailed CAD drawings , schematics, and technical specifications for HVAC installations.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and performance testing of installed systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC system issues, providing expert technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a specialization in HVAC system design.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, TRACE 3D) and CAD tools.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and building codes related to HVAC.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with energy-efficient design strategies and green building principles.
