About the Role

Our client seeks a meticulous and experienced Sanitation Specialist to join their operations in Rustenburg . This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within manufacturing and processing environments, balancing hands-on duties with oversight responsibilities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sanitation plans, ensuring compliance with food safety or industry-specific regulations, and supervising a small team. While some aspects of the role require on-site presence, there will be opportunities for remote work related to planning, reporting, and team coordination. This position offers a chance to significantly impact the operational hygiene of the client's facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive sanitation programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
• Train and supervise sanitation staff, ensuring they understand and follow all protocols.
• Manage the procurement and inventory of sanitation supplies and equipment.
• Monitor and control the use of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, ensuring safe and effective application.
• Troubleshoot sanitation issues and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal hygiene levels.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sanitation role, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment, and best practices.
• Experience with HACCP, GMP, or other relevant quality and safety management systems.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to conduct effective training sessions and communicate protocols clearly.
• Flexibility to work both on-site in Rustenburg and remotely for planning and reporting tasks.
