About the Role Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join their monitoring team in Sandton . This role is essential for ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of the company's extensive telecommunications network. You will be responsible for real-time network monitoring, incident detection, and initial response, working to maintain the highest service levels for customers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong technical troubleshooting skills, and thrives in a dynamic, shift-based operational environment supporting the Gauteng region. Key Responsibilities Monitor network performance and availability using various NOC tools and systems. Detect, diagnose, and respond to network alerts and incidents in a timely manner. Perform first-level troubleshooting and **escalate** unresolved issues to appropriate teams. Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders during service disruptions. Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices. Requirements Experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar IT support environment. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, ICMP). Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP , routing, and switching. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple incidents simultaneously.
