About the Role Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Public Relations Coordinator to support their communications team in Sandton . This role is essential in assisting with the execution of public relations strategies, managing media inquiries, and supporting brand reputation management efforts. You will play a key role in coordinating media events, drafting press materials, and monitoring media coverage to ensure positive public perception. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing public relations plans and campaigns. Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other PR materials. Monitor media coverage across print, online, and broadcast channels, compiling reports. Respond to routine media inquiries and direct complex requests to appropriate personnel. Support the planning and execution of media events, press conferences, and brand activations. Maintain and update media contact lists and databases. Assist with social media content creation and community management as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proofreading abilities. Familiarity with media relations principles and PR best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Cision or similar media monitoring tools is a plus. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment in Sandton .
