About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to ensure robust safety protocols and environmental compliance within their energy operations in Benoni . This role is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment, minimizing environmental impact, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards. You will conduct audits, develop training programs, and implement EHS initiatives across various sites. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with legal requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions.
• Organize and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
• Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management and emissions control.
• Prepare EHS reports for management and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the energy industry.
• Knowledge of South African OHS Act and environmental legislation.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
