Flight Operations Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an organized and proactive Flight Operations Officer to manage and coordinate flight schedules and operational logistics from their hub in Rustenburg. This critical role ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient execution of all flight operations. You will be responsible for flight planning, crew scheduling, regulatory compliance monitoring, and managing operational contingencies. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, decision-making skills, and a thorough understanding of aviation operations and regulations, thriving in a fast-paced environment that requires constant vigilance and quick response.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all flight schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of aircraft and crew resources.
• Monitor weather conditions, air traffic, and operational factors to manage flight plans and make real-time adjustments.
• Ensure strict adherence to all applicable aviation regulations and company policies.
• Liaise effectively with flight crews, maintenance teams, air traffic control, and other stakeholders.
• Manage operational disruptions, such as delays or diversions, and implement effective solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Flight Operations Officer or in a related aviation operations role.
• Solid understanding of flight planning software , meteorology, and air traffic management principles.
• Knowledge of international and local aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
