Senior Automotive Electrician

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking automotive service center in Benoni , is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Electrician to lead their electrical diagnostics and repair services. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex electrical systems, including engine management, lighting, infotainment, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). This role requires a deep understanding of automotive electrical principles, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with cutting-edge diagnostic equipment. As a senior member, you will mentor junior technicians, contribute to process improvements, and ensure the highest standards of quality for electrical repairs in a busy workshop environment, with potential for some remote diagnostic consultation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on complex vehicle electrical systems, including CAN bus communication and sensor networks.
• Repair and replace faulty electrical components, wiring harnesses, and control modules.
• Utilize specialized diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters to pinpoint electrical issues accurately.
• Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior automotive electricians and technicians.
• Stay current with advancements in automotive electrical technology, including hybrid and EV systems.
• Ensure all electrical repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience as an Automotive Electrician or in a specialized electrical diagnostics role.
• Mastery of automotive electrical theory, circuit diagrams, and diagnostic procedures.
• Proficiency with advanced diagnostic equipment and software for electrical systems.
• Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle electrical systems is highly advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE Electrical/Electronic Systems) are preferred.
