Chemical Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Design Engineer to contribute to their projects based in Benoni . This role involves the conceptualization, design, and detailed engineering of chemical processes for new plants and modifications to existing facilities. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to translate process requirements into robust and cost-effective designs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the development of chemical infrastructure and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform heat and mass balance calculations for chemical processes.
• Specify process equipment, including reactors, columns, pumps, and heat exchangers.
• Conduct hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and other risk assessments.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure designs meet requirements and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical process design engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and equipment design.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a project-driven environment in Benoni .
