Lean Manufacturing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Lean Manufacturing Specialist to drive continuous improvement initiatives remotely for their operations near Benoni. This role focuses on implementing and refining Lean principles across all aspects of the operational workflow, from production to supply chain management. You will be instrumental in identifying waste, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of efficiency and problem-solving throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will be a catalyst for change, leveraging deep knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies to achieve significant operational gains from a distributed work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Conduct waste reduction analyses and implement strategies to eliminate non-value-added activities.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams in Kaizen events and improvement projects.
• Develop training materials and deliver workshops on Lean concepts to all levels of staff.
• Monitor performance metrics and report on the progress and impact of Lean initiatives.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement roles.
• Proven experience leading Lean transformation projects and achieving measurable results.
• Strong understanding of all core Lean tools and methodologies.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and change management skills.
• Ability to drive initiatives and collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
