Remote GIS Specialist - Mineral Resource Mapping

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing spatial datasets related to geological features, mineral occurrences, and mining infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain spatial databases for mineral exploration projects using GIS software.
• Create thematic maps, cross-sections, and 3D visualizations of geological data and resource models.
• Perform spatial analysis to identify potential exploration targets and assess resource potential.
• Integrate diverse datasets, including geological maps, drill hole data, geophysical surveys, and satellite imagery.
• Automate GIS workflows and develop custom tools to improve data processing efficiency.
• Collaborate remotely with geologists, engineers, and other team members to support project objectives.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and proper documentation of all GIS assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a GIS Specialist, preferably in the mining or natural resources sector.
• Expertise in Esri ArcGIS software suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro) and extensions.
• Proficiency in spatial analysis techniques, geostatistics, and database management (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for GIS automation is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
