Duties and Responsibilities

To assist the driver with the safe and efficient loading, transportation, offloading, and delivery of FMCG products to customers, retail stores, and other designated locations. The role also involves general warehouse and logistics duties, maintaining stock accuracy, preventing product damage, and ensuring excellent customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the driver with loading and offloading FMCG products.
• Ensure that products are handled carefully to prevent damage, breakages, and losses.
• Check products against delivery notes, invoices, picking slips, and customer orders.
• Assist with the accurate delivery of goods to customers and designated locations.
• Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery where required.
• Assist with the collection of returned goods, empty crates, pallets, and other company property.
• Help the driver navigate delivery routes and locate customer addresses.
• Report damaged, missing, incorrect, or short-delivered stock to the driver or supervisor.
• Ensure that all goods are secured properly inside the delivery vehicle.

General Warehouse Duties

• Assist with receiving, checking, moving, and organising stock.
• Load and offload products from delivery vehicles and within the warehouse.
• Pick, pack, sort, and prepare products for dispatch when required.
• Replenish stock and assist with stock rotation according to company procedures.
• Check product quantities, packaging, labels, and expiry dates where applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse, loading areas, and delivery vehicle.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks when required.

FMCG Product Handling

• Handle food, beverages, household products, and other consumer goods according to company procedures.
• Follow the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle where applicable.
• Ensure that perishable products are handled and stored according to required temperature and hygiene standards.
• Identify and report damaged, expired, leaking, or contaminated products

Minimum Requirement

• Grade 12
• Previuos experience as Van Assistant /General worker, Warehouse or in logistics/FMCG will be an advantage
• Good communication skills and teamwork skills
• Ability to read and understand deliverynotes , labels and basic instructions
• Rate: R50.47 Per hour
