Industrial Engineer - Supply Chain Optimization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer with a specialization in supply chain optimization to join their operations in Benoni, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current supply chain operations, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and distribution.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
• Utilize data analysis and modeling tools to identify areas for optimization and forecast demand.
• Design and implement improved inventory control systems and warehouse layouts.
• Collaborate with internal departments (procurement, sales, production) and external partners (suppliers, logistics providers) to ensure seamless operations.
• Develop performance metrics and dashboards to monitor supply chain effectiveness.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new distribution channels or logistics solutions.
• Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations for supply chain improvements to management.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management and industrial engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a specific focus on supply chain and logistics optimization.
• Proven ability to analyze complex supply chain data and develop effective solutions.
• Proficiency in supply chain modeling software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, warehousing principles, and transportation logistics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.
• Ability to adapt to a hybrid work environment, managing tasks both remotely and on-site in Benoni, Gauteng .
