Senior UX/UI Designer (Remote-First)

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in digital solutions, is seeking a highly experienced and creative Senior UX/UI Designer to join their dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of cutting-edge digital products and services, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing. This role demands a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a passion for crafting seamless digital journeys, and the ability to translate complex requirements into elegant, user-friendly interfaces. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user needs and behaviors.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI component libraries to ensure consistency across all products.
• Collaborate with product managers to define product requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
• Work closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs, providing clear specifications and assets.
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and stakeholder input.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest UX/UI trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to a culture of design excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer, Product Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and outcomes.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).
• Solid understanding of user-centered design methodologies, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, typography, and color theory.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• A Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred.
