About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking e-commerce fulfillment company, is seeking a proactive Logistics and Delivery Specialist to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role requires a blend of driving expertise and logistical coordination, focusing on ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from the warehouse to the end customer. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a dedication to timely deliveries. You will be responsible for managing your delivery schedule, maintaining vehicle integrity, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to customers, ensuring safe and timely arrival.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering traffic and delivery windows.
- Conduct daily inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs immediately.
- Load and unload packages carefully, ensuring correct handling and securement of all items.
- Accurately document all deliveries, including proof of delivery and customer confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customer service teams regarding delivery status and any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Provide a high level of customer service during delivery interactions.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and vehicle.
- Assist with warehouse operations during downtime as required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license (Code 10 preferred, Code B accepted with significant delivery experience).
- Previous experience in delivery driving or logistics roles, ideally within the Benoni, Gauteng area.
- Excellent knowledge of local routes and navigation skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition, with the ability to lift and move packages up to 25kg.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Proficiency with smartphone applications for navigation and delivery tracking.
