About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the Energy sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geothermal Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team in Benoni, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reservoir simulation models to predict long-term performance and optimize production strategies.
• Analyze well test data, production history, and geological information to assess reservoir characteristics and potential.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new geothermal development projects.
• Design and manage injection and production well programs to maximize resource recovery.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to integrate subsurface data.
• Monitor reservoir performance and recommend operational adjustments to maintain optimal output.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in geothermal reservoir engineering.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in geothermal reservoir engineering or a closely related field (e.g., petroleum engineering with a focus on unconventional resources).
• Master's or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Proven expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, TOUGH2, CMG).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex subsurface data.
• Excellent understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer in reservoir systems.
• Experience with well testing analysis and production data management.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites occasionally.
