Industrial Engineer - Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement

About the Role Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Industrial Engineer with a strong passion for Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to join their operations in Sandton . This role is essential for driving efficiency, eliminating waste, and fostering a culture of ongoing improvement across all manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of lean principles, tools, and methodologies, coupled with a proven ability to implement successful improvement initiatives. You will work closely with production teams, management, and other departments to identify opportunities, lead Kaizen events, and embed lean practices into the daily operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and facilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects in Sandton . Apply lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke to optimize processes. Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and improve quality. Train and mentor employees at all levels on Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques. Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices. Measure and report on the impact of improvement initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of improvements. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving throughout the organization. Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. A minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. Demonstrated expertise in applying various Lean tools and methodologies. Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing improvement projects. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. Excellent facilitation, training, and communication skills. Experience with process mapping and documentation. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management and change management principles. A proactive and results-oriented mindset.
