IT Risk Manager
Location : Stellenbosch

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced IT Risk Manager to join a luxury wine estate based in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring IT infrastructure and systems are secure, resilient, and operating at optimal performance levels.
Main Responsibilities & Duties :
Conduct monthly vulnerability scans on all IT infrastructure equipment and resolve any identified issues
Propose and implement upgrades when equipment becomes vulnerable
Ensure Office 365 Cloud Services are secured against threats with appropriate security measures in place
Manage antivirus and cyber security software across servers and user devices
Implement penetration testing and decoy systems
Set up, monitor, and manage a SIEM system to detect potential risks
Configure and maintain firewalls (Checkpoint) and malware protection software (ESET Remote Administrator)
Manage and maintain servers (VMware), domain controllers (Microsoft Active Directory 2019), point of sale systems (EasiPos), accounting software servers (Sage Evolution), biometrics access control systems, fibre internet lines, backup Wi-Fi links, and other processes
Assist the Senior IT Systems Administrator with daily tasks
Liaise with third-party cyber security service providers
Secondary Responsibilities :
Install, configure, and provide technical support for hardware and software
Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
Monitor systems daily and respond promptly to security or usability concerns
Create and verify backups of servers (Acronis Cyber Cloud)
Upgrade systems and processes for enhanced functionality and security
Set up accounts and workstations for new staff members
Troubleshoot system issues and outages
Manage Wi-Fi connections, ensuring 100% uptime for clients and users (Unifi Controller)
Maintain and manage the cloud-based phone system (3CX)
Administer and maintain Office 365 accounts for all staff
Requirements :
Relevant tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
7–10 years’ experience in Cyber Threat or IT Risk Management (preferred)
Applicable Microsoft certifications
Strong knowledge of networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Excellent understanding of VPNs
Expertise in Office 365 Cloud Services, Ubiquity APs, HP Aruba switches and VLAN, Windows 10 / 11, Windows Server 2019 / 2022, and Active Directory administration (users, groups, policies, DNS, DHCP, organisational units)
Familiarity with fibre connections and network topologies
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to take ownership, work independently, and perform under pressure
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels
