Job Description
Responsibilities include extracting data from the Warehouse Dimensional Marts and designing and building front end processes that satisfy end user requirements; testing programs and processes to ensure the desired end result with strong emphasis on data and data management; obtaining data for Business / Systems Analysts to satisfy ad hoc requests; performing impact analysis; performing regression testing if required; reviewing and approving business specifications; implementing changes; retesting functionality and addressing fixes; conducting unit testing; and developing functionality per specification. Additional responsibilities focus on asset and configuration management across the IT landscape, lifecycle tracking, licensing conformance, and delivering IT services to the business.
Consolidate, track and manage physical and contractual aspects of IT assets throughout their lifecycles to support IT Service delivery and licensing conformance.
Responsibilities : Asset & Configuration Management
- Lead the creation, configuration and implementation of the asset and configuration management approach to meet business and operating needs.
- Define and implement a fit-for-purpose operating model for Asset and Configuration Management.
- Define and implement policies and procedures for Asset and Configuration Management.
- Ensure configuration items are identified, accounted, reported, verified and audited; maintain strict controls for all items; only authorised changes are made for all assets.
- Maintain up-to-date asset inventories for all technology assets.
- Assess existing asset processes; develop target state use cases, functional specifications and reports requirements.
- Ensure compliance, risk management and adherence to regulations; manage protection of intellectual property in asset management.
- Stakeholder management : build and maintain healthy internal / external relationships to meet organisational goals.
- Financial management : assist in annual forecast activities of associated expense components.
- Lead and manage audit requirements (internal and external).
- Meet with stakeholders to identify IT Asset Requirements in consultation with external vendors; build sustainable relationships with internal clients (IT) and vendors; network with IT associations to apply best practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors to ensure IT Asset Management services are delivered accurately and timely; engage in continuous service improvement with other IT process owners.
Results Delivery
Contribute to IT and financial division budgets by delivering accurate IT asset status in a 3-year life cycle and trend reports on the Configuration Management System.Ensure conformance to licensing agreements; escalate where conformance is not aligned to avoid financial or penalty risk.Ensure IT Asset Management policies and procedures are followed; ensure IT audit timelines and requirements are met.Regularly review software scans and conduct spot audits to measure asset status; align with stakeholders on timescales.Contribute to client service improvement by aligning systems, products and projects with ITIL and software asset management principles; align processes with Continuous Service Improvement.Provide specialist input on IT Service Asset Management systems, processes and policies through evaluation.Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build strategic industry and global networks; engage with thought leaders and associations; attend conferences and training.Meet stakeholders to identify IT Asset needs; build sustainable relationships with internal clients and vendors; network with IT associations to share best practices.Collaborate with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of IT Asset Management services; participate in continuous improvement initiatives with IT process owners.Process Management
Manage licensing procurement, renewal and conformance with system owners and stakeholders.Communicate licensing status and financial implications of conformance.Apply ITIL-based Asset Management methodologies to analyze inputs and support cost-effective decisions.Provide accurate information to aid cost decisions; update CMDB / Asset data and ensure compliance with licensing terms and vendor agreements.Interact with departments to create an Asset Standards List; apply corrective actions to resolve IT asset issues; educate users on processes to ensure adherence to ITSM policies.Ensure asset registers are accurate, CMDB data is current, and operational reporting includes asset / configuration status and license metrics.Provide coaching and training for CMDB stakeholders; stay current with industry innovations and plan new technologies; author IT knowledge base articles on CMDB / Asset management.Review and execute changes to CMDB as per Change Management; maintain hardware model databases in ITSM tools.Transformation, Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement value-adding improvements and innovative ideas contributing to the business.Maintain statutory and legislative knowledge to resolve customer issues, advise on corrective solutions, and improve customer experience while complying with governance requirements.Enhance cost efficiency and operational effectiveness; align service delivery with business and IT changes; participate in continuous service improvement initiatives.Service Delivery & Cost Governance
Attend business management committee meetings as required; review service and business catalogs; maintain service quality and outputs; establish productive stakeholder relationships; develop work routines aligned with plans and schedules.Share knowledge and participate in creating new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.Contribute to budgeting, manage supplier relationships, and assist in business cases for IT infrastructure / services; monitor staff-related costs and suggest policy amendments where needed.Change Management & People Practices
Influence and implement change management strategies to maximize adoption and ROI; provide direct support and coaching during transitions.Manage performance and quality of people practices; align behaviour with company culture and values; transfer knowledge to colleagues and collaborate with IT teams to meet service levels.Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.
