Through empowering Youth Play Ambassadors and supporting activities like our Programme, Community PlayDates, Fun Days and Resilience Toolbox training, we empower children, youth, caregivers, and communities to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the successful delivery of our annual programme from planning to evaluation, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Work closely with Sisanda team, Youth Play Ambassadors and beneficiaries to make programme improvements (approaches, resources, systems) integrating your own knowledge and expertise, drawing on and developing evidence‑informed practices.
- Collaborate across the team and with external partners to ensure seamless and expanded project implementation partners and locations.
- Directly support the delivery of Fun Days and training workshops.
- Support data capturing, project documentation, monitoring and evaluation to inform reflection and learning for continuous programme improvement, impact measurement and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience in project management, preferably in the non‑profit or community development sector.Experience working in under‑resourced communities and across diverse contexts.Background in child or youth development, mental health, or community‑based programs is essential.A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. in social work, social development, education, psychology, occupational therapy, or related fields) is an advantage.Leadership experience to guide and support team members effectively.Familiarity with content creation, training and resource development.Desirable 5 years overall experience 2 years in project planning or coordination role.Skills and Competencies
Strong planning and organisational skills with attention to detail.Comfortable managing multiple tasks and adapting to changing needs and priorities.Good written and verbal communication skills in English (essential) and at least one other South African language (is an advantage).Proficient in using digital tools for communication, project management, and reporting.Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of working collaboratively in a small, close‑knit team and with donors, beneficiaries and community partners.Values and Personal Attributes

This is a part‑time role, ideally suited to someone who can be flexible with their time and is available to work on one or two Saturdays per month.The position is office‑based in Wynberg, with flexibility to work remotely on an ad hoc basis as agreed with the team.Travel to project implementation sites, currently in Manenberg and Gugulethu, is required.The successful candidate must have a driver's licence and the own reliable transport which they are prepared to use for work activities such as partner meetings, project implementation, weekend programmes.Must be able to submit or be willing to attain a police certificate and agree to be vetted against the National Children’s Protection Register.The successful candidate is expected to have their own computer, access to internet at home and smartphone device.Join a passionate team committed to empowering children, youth and communities and shaping the future of mental health through Connecting through Play.Closing Date for applications : 5 November
