Purpose of the Role
The Content Writer will be responsible for crafting engaging written content that reflects the brand identity, enhances customer experience, and supports marketing, digital, and product objectives. This role involves producing a variety of content types, from product descriptions and social media captions to blog posts, email campaigns, press releases, and campaign messaging.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Write clear, compelling, and on-brand content for multiple platforms including :
- Website and e-commerce product descriptions
- Email marketing campaigns and newsletters
- Social media captions and ad copy
- Blog articles and brand stories
- In-store signage and packaging copy
- Press releases and internal communications
Brand Voice & Messaging
Ensure all written content is aligned with visual identity, and brand guidelinesCollaborate with design, marketing, product, and e-commerce teams to support product launches, campaigns, and storytellingContent Planning & Execution
Assist in developing content calendars and campaign themesContribute to brainstorming sessions and campaign ideationEnsure deadlines are met across all content-related deliverablesEditing & Proofreading
Edit and proofread marketing materials, ensuring accuracy, grammar, and brand consistencyReview content created by other departments to maintain tone and messaging qualitySEO & Digital Best Practices
Apply basic SEO principles to digital content to improve visibility and engagementStay updated on digital content trends and consumer engagement strategiesRequirements
Degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing , or related field2 – 5 years of content writing experience , preferably within retail, lifestyle, or design-focused industriesExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skillsA strong portfolio demonstrating diverse content creation skills (digital and print)Understanding of e-commerce, SEO, and social media best practicesAbility to adapt writing style for different channels and audiencesHighly organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-drivenPassion for storytelling, design, and creative brandingBonus Skills (Advantageous but not required)
