Role Overview
Title : Team Leader – Sales (Insurance)
The Team Leader leads, motivates, and develops a team of sales consultants, ensuring they meet key performance targets, deliver operational efficiencies, and provide an exceptional customer experience aligned with company objectives. The role also resolves complex customer issues and maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
Responsibilities
- Achieve performance targets and resolve customer queries efficiently.
- Handle complex or sensitive customer issues, demonstrating empathy and problem‑solving skills to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
- Lead by example with exemplary customer service, promoting a culture of excellence within the team.
- Continuously improve customer experience and service delivery.
- Drive team efficiency targets and productivity standards.
- Maintain adherence to workflows, identify procedural or system gaps, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve team targets and provide guidance for inbound inquiries.
- Monitor sales metrics, analyze data to identify trends, and provide performance feedback for improvement.
- Foster a positive sales culture, coaching and training team members, and encouraging innovation and staff engagement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align sales efforts with organizational goals and develop KPAs and personal development plans.
- Participate in motivation activities, workforce planning, and performance management in compliance with BCEA.
Reporting & Data Management
Capture required data to keep systems accurate and up to date.Track team performance hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly.Provide accurate reports and identify adverse variances or negative trends, proactively developing action plans.Deliver operational feedback to management, highlighting trends through data analysis.Projects
Participate in any projects aligned with the agreed KPAs.Assist with the implementation and optimization of projects and assignments.Qualifications & Accreditations
NQF5 or above.A relevant tertiary qualification.Experience & Skills
Minimum 3 years of experience leading high‑performing teams of 10–20 consultants in a fast‑paced environment.Minimum 2 years’ experience in funeral sales, loans, or a comparable environment.Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Clear credit and criminal record.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Availability for shifts, weekends, and public holidays.About Us
