Job Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher to join our Intermediate and Senior Phase team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Afrikaans instruction to learners in Grades 4 to 7, fostering a love for the language and supporting academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Teach Afrikaans First Additional Language to learners in Grades 4–7.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
- Prepare learners for formal assessments and termly reporting.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support language development through reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities.
- Monitor and report on learner progress.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the language programme.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or relevant qualification with PGCE.Specialisation in Afrikaans or Language Education.SACE registration (or proof of application).Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Intermediate / Senior Phase.Proficiency in Afrikaans and English.Preferred Attributes :
Strong classroom management skills.Passion for language teaching and learner development.Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Familiarity with CAPS curriculum and assessment standards.Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools in the classroom.Requirements
