Job descriptionAssist Senior Buyers in procuring required materials and services daily to satisfy operational requirements. Assist in resolving queries within the purchase process. Participate in the Process Alignment Team (PAT) to optimize service delivery and availability. Report unsatisfactory / poor-performing suppliers to vendor management. Keep up to date with market trends and new goods and services, and effectively react to changes in demand, thus enabling cost savings and competitiveness. Assist and guide end users in completing purchase requisitions. Create, issue, modify, and process purchase orders. Communicate with end users on the status of purchase orders. Assist in receiving and evaluating all quotations. Ensure maintenance and updating of pricing of goods and services on the relevant system. Place orders with suppliers for goods and services required. Capture expected delivery dates if extensions exist on agreed lead times, as well as the expected reasons for deviation. Continuously engage in efforts to improve on-time deliveries of stock times, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide superior customer service. Attend to and assist in resolving procurement issues such as incorrect proof of delivery, incorrect delivery price, and wrong item identified, etc. Maintain and update purchasing documentation. Conduct purchasing administration. Identify repetitive purchases for contract opportunities. Assist the stock controller / inventory controller in expediting of stock.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree / Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistic Management.
- Grade 12.
- At least two (2) years working experience in the Procurement Department.
- Computer literacy.
- Drivers license and own transport.
