- The Programme Analyst is required to provide expert support services for the Ethics & Compliance department with regards to compliance information technology systems & analytics as well as ensuring management of the associated portfolios.
- The role is also expected to ensure the delivery of analytics to the department by providing detailed reporting and ensuring coordination & oversight on the related allocated assignments with strong interface with Ethics and Compliance Systems and Analytics Manager.
Functions / Responsibilities
Strategic Support
Contribute in the development of the Ethics & Compliance related strategies and plans by providing the necessary data and analytics insights relating to Massmart’s operational & support environments that provide insight into the effectiveness of the Ethics & Compliance control environments.Using systems and data, identify risk environments which enable the Monitoring and Response tactical plan.With the understanding of Massmart’s and Compliance system technology and processes (both from an International and Local perspective), determine applicability and alignment within monitoring and response objectives.Analyse programmes, new business risks & trends; and incorporates them into the monitoring and response plans.Data Analytics Management and Planning
Collaborate and co-ordinate with divisional stakeholders to develop and deploy consistent compliance systems and data and analytics tools.Review and recommend approval of implementation plans.Prioritise assurance efforts and ensure execution in order to identify data resources required.With the understanding of compliance system technology and process (both from an International and Local perspective), determine applicability and alignment within Massmart.Develops KPIs for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of the business’s initiatives.Develop models and ad hoc reports, sharing observations and recommendations with senior management, executives, and stakeholders for further consideration.Build statistical models, diagnoses, validates, and improve the performance of these models over time.Create efficient and reusable SQL code or Alteryx workflows meant for the improvement, manipulation, and analysis of data.Develop clear and well-structured analytical plans and analyses large data-sets.Identify, communicate, and endeavor to resolve data gaps that impact the fulfilment of the business’s functional requirements.Identify, evaluate and document potential data sources in support of project requirements within the assigned subject matter areas in the business.Build and operationalize processes that ensure timely data-loading and maintain accuracy and relevance of data used within the data department.Data Analytics Ad-Hoc Support
Play a supporting role in the business where well developed logical and conceptual data flows that are in support of departmental project requirements and guides various subject matter areas in appropriate and effective use of data.Support and execute change management activities with regard to data analysis across business departments.Mine the business’s database in search of critical business insights and communicate findings to the relevant subject matter areas and the business at large.Identify and communicate risks and issues in projects or programs initiated by the various subject matter areas and communicate this information to the relevant leadership.Use data to guide subject matter areas through all programs and initiatives, enabling continuous improvement in data quality, departmental performance, and overall business performance.Stakeholder Management
Work within and across the business with all key stakeholders in order to understand the business’s functional and data requirements in order to :Develop detailed business requirements.Conduct gap analysesCreate functional designsGuide the business’s leadership through analytical data processing when needed.Act as the business relationship manager between Ethics and Compliance and other key stakeholders in order to gain support and give effect to the Ethics and Compliance Strategy.Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Internal Audit, and Central Data and Analytics teams.Requirements
Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position
Bachelor’s Degree / Bachelor of Technology / Advanced Diploma in Information Systems or Commerce related qualification.Minimum 4 years’ experience in a junior Programme Analyst related role.System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Project Management experience.Business Analytics (preferred).Compliance environment experience (preferred).Retail / Wholesale Financial experience will be advantageous.Competencies and Skills
