Assistant Accountant

Purpose of the Role :

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their Finance division. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial information in compliance with IFRS , PFMA , and internal policies and procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring sound financial control, discipline, and effective asset management.

Key Performance Areas :

• Perform accurate monthly reconciliations including preparation, issue resolution, and escalation of red-flag items.
• Compile year-end reconciliations and disclosures to support annual financial statements.
• Manage and maintain the fixed asset register for all movable assets.
• Process invoicing , month-end , and year-end journals .
• Serve as back-up support to the Bookkeeper / Accountant as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and support year-end financial processes.
• Assist in the resolution of audit findings (both internal and external).
• Actively participate in broader organizational initiatives and reporting.
