Job descriptionExpertise in Private Law and / or Mercantile Law. Relevant teaching experience in higher education. Good knowledge of Canvas as an online LMS. Good knowledge of legal databases such as JutaStat, LexisNexis, Sabinet. A research track record. Admission as a legal practitioner. A South African LLD degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good verbal and written communication skills. Presentation and facilitation skills. Computer literacy and e-learning skills. Planning and organising skills. Knowledge and skills in the relevant field. Willingness to participate in academic scholarship, including subject matter research and teaching and learning research. Willingness to expand knowledge in various fields of law and to teach in more than one field of law. Willingness to work after hours. Willingness to work across different modes of teaching and learning.

Lecturer / Senior Lecturer : School of Law
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lecturing with specific focus on Private Law and / or Mercantile Law.
- Assessment and moderation.
- Marking assessments (assignments and exams) and providing feedback.
- Development of study material and management of relevant modules on campus in collaboration with module coordinator.
- Student support.
- Research and scholarship.
- Academic administration and other delegated duties.
- Participation in school and campus community and events.
- Using the Learning Management System (LMS).
- A South African LLD degree in the relevant field (or a closely related field).
