Maintenance Foreman

We are looking for an experienced maintenance team leader who combines excellent mechanical and electrical skills in order to fulfill the maintenance requirements of a company at the forefront of polymer production. What you'll be doing
- Ensuring all equipment is in a safe and reliable working conditions at all times.
- Determining short- and long-term maintenance requirements.
- Drafting, implementing and overseeing preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
- Performing equipment inspections and scheduling corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the production to plan and execute shutdown with minimal disruption.
- Assigning, monitoring and verifying tasks performed by the maintenance team.
- Keeping accurate maintenance records. This includes but is not limited to records of maintenance requests, inspections, work done, spare usage and records, downtime logs performed with critical information such as dates, times.
- Identifying and maintaining critical spares list and ensuring spares are available as and when needed.
- Conducting regular stock counts on maintenance tools, spares, equipment and consumables.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized maintenance workshop.
- Ensuring maintenance tools and equipment are available and in good working condition at all times.
- Enforcing Health & Safety compliance (PPE use, permits to work, lock-out / tag out procedures, etc.)
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory and company standards.
- Regular and accurate reporting to the Management team of the status of the maintenance function.
- Daily formal session with the maintenance team to plan the day and assign their tasks.
- Development and implement improved maintenance processes and policies.
- Troubleshooting of breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective solutions
- Mentoring electricians and semi-skilled assistants, providing training, coaching, and guidance to build skills and enhance team performance.
- Support continuous improvement projects and contributing to plant efficiency initiatives.
What you'll need
Minimum Red-Seal Trade Certificate as a Fitter & Turner OR a Millwright.Extensive experience with both mechanical AND electrical systems (including three-phase).Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance leadership role.Practical understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and automation systems.Experience with the management of small teams essential.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and discipline team members when necessary.Job coordination and planning experience.Hands-on experience with plastics processing equipment and general plastics manufacturing processes an advantage.Understanding of maintenance management systems and record-keeping practices.Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to effectively use resources independently.Own, reliable transport is a requirement.What is in it for you?
