Role Purpose / Business Unit :
To deliver on all monthly technology governance reporting requirements for the Vodacom Group Technology Strategy and Governance department in alignment with Technology Strategy Governance Reporting processes, quality standards and the annual Technology Governance planning calendar.To effectively and efficiently monitor, report and highlight deviations in the execution of the Technology Strategy across the Vodacom Sub-Sahara Africa region through continuous engagement with local markets and key Vodacom Group Technology stakeholders (Group Networks, Group IT and Group Cyber Security).To provide Technology Strategy and Governance Reporting related support towards Vodafone, Vodacom Group CTO, Vodacom Senior Technology Leadership team and the Business as a whole, including Vodacom Group Strategy.Your responsibilities will include :
Execute and deliver on the Technology Strategy and Governance Reporting processes with extremely high-quality and to drive effective monitoring of the execution of the Technology Strategy across the seven local markets in Sub-Saharan Africa region.Obtaining accurate information e.g. statistics, from authenticated sources within Vodacom Group Technology (Group Networks, Group IT, Group Cyber Security and Group Shared Technology) as well as the local markets within the Sub-Saharan Africa region.Consolidate the information into standardised reporting frameworks / templates such as the monthly Vodacom Group Exco Report and monthly TLT Dashboard which is used to monitor the execution of the Technology Strategy (includes alignment to Tech2025) across the Sub-Saharan Africa region)Responsible to effectively and efficiently monitor, report and highlight deviations in the execution of the Technology Strategy across the Vodacom Sub-Sahara Africa region through continuous engagement with local markets and key Vodacom Group Technology stakeholders (Group Networks, Group IT and Group Cyber Security).Responsible for the monthly TLT dashboard which shows progress of key initiatives (aligned to the Technology Guidance and Group Technology initiatives) with metrics / targets for each local market in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.Maintain the reporting governance processes and reporting calendar for the Technology Strategy and Governance team.Ensure timely review, approval and submission of all reporting according reporting governance processes and calendars.Provide Vodacom Group CTO support with presentations, reporting, and communications (internal and external stakeholders) as required from time to time by the Group CTO. Audience includes stakeholders such as Vodafone and Vodacom Exco / Boards, investors, business partners and the media.To communicate effectively and maintain sound relationships at the relevant levels within the Company and all other Commercial teams within Vodacom in accordance with agreed strategies with Line Management.To communicate at all levels within the organization through documented outputs tailored to the specific project / initiative, engagement, audience and desired outcome. This could include written documents, presentations, memos, reports etc.The ideal candidate for this role will have :
Minimum of B.Sc Electrical / Electronic Engineering degree / diploma or similar5 years of experience with technical depth across both Network and IT
2 years report writing for senior management and CxO level
Research and analytical capabilities, attention to detail and commercial savvy.Strategic thinking and knowledge of emerging technologies.Strong communication and presentation skillsHigh proficiency and use of the English language.Core competencies, knowledge and experience :
Broad knowledge / experience of the Telecommunication Industry in the following domains :Mobile Telecommunications technologies, including Access, Transmission and Core Network knowledge, both Circuit and Packet switchedFixed Telecommunications technologies, including Access, Transmission and Core Network knowledge, both Circuit and Packet switchedEnterprise technologies, including, SDN, Unified Communications, Internet of Things, Private Networks etc.Mobile bearer technologies as defined by 3GPP / IETF / GSMATelecommunications BSS knowledge including (but not limited to) CRM Systems, Charging and Billing Systems, BI Technologies and Integration Technologies.Digital Evolution technologies including 5G, Big Data and Analytics, Cloud, Platforms, Micro-services, Disruptive Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic ProcessAutomation, Internet of Things and so forth.General knowledge of key technology concepts that impact Telecommunications and the broader ICT industry in order to provide thought leadershipGeneral knowledge of the Telecommunications industry environment / landscape (e.g. Regulatory, Government etc.) in order to provide thought leadership on strategic topicsCommunications skills including interpersonal skills, able to produce high-quality presentations, presentation skills, report and technical writing, negotiation skills, relationship building ability, management reporting.Excellent use of English language for professional technical writing to produce monthly and annual reports, presentations and documents that are of global industry standardWe make an impact by offering :
