Farm Foreman

Our client, a well-established farm in the Montagu area, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Foreman to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for agriculture — particularly stone fruit, orchards, vegetables, and plants — who is ready to grow alongside the business.

You will work closely with the Farm Manager to oversee and develop farming operations, ensuring the farm runs efficiently, the labour team is well-managed, and production goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee the daily maintenance and management of the farm.

Ensure smooth and efficient running of all daily operations and production activities.

Manage livestock and ensure their health and welfare.

Oversee equipment use, servicing, and repairs.

Maintain accurate record-keeping and inventory systems.

Compile and submit daily reports to management.

Enforce safety and compliance protocols across all farm activities.

Manage and optimise crop production — including stone fruit, orchards, vegetables, and plants .

Lead pest and disease prevention and treatment programmes.

Administer orchard spraying and fertilisation schedules.

Supervise and train farm labourers to maximise productivity.

Assist the Farm Manager with financial management and improving budgets.

Solve operational challenges, with a focus on innovative agricultural methods.

Key Attributes :

Minimum of 5 years’ farming experience with stone fruit, orchards, vegetables, and plants .

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent time management abilities.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Practical problem-solving mindset.
