E&I Engineer

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

• BSc. or BTech in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Registration with ECSA is advantageous
• 6 or more years hands-on experience in E&I field installations, testing and commissioning.
• A strong technical background to do the detailed electrical engineering designs (MV, LV, motor control, stand-by power supplies, earthing and lightning protection system design, power system analysis / protection design etc.)
• Experience with codes and standards including SANS and IEC.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical engineering reports / drawings
• Experience working in a project team, including managing budgets and schedules.
• Experience heavy industry / petrochemical industries is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed.

JOB DUTIES :

Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.

Visits sites and prepare evaluations of existing sites

Assist with the preparation of conceptual reports which will include preliminary designs and analyses, drawings, cost estimates, project schedules and project implementation plans.

Preparation of detailed designs, analyses, tender drawings, schedules of quantities, contract documents, project cost estimates, project schedules and project implementation plans

Assist with management of the Issue of tenders, preparation of notices to tenders, adjudication of tenders and preparation of tender reporting.

Assist with handling site queries, prepare monthly payment certificates, cost report cost control and manage quality assurance

Assist with preparation of standards
