Job Description

The role is to ensure the overall health of the network environment.

The position is responsible for overseeing network management—including LAN, WAN, and WLAN—as well as WAFS, F5, and related infrastructure within a dynamic environment. The role also includes handling firewall requests for systems managed by Deloitte Global Technology Services.

The role requires working within a team environment as well as independently with the emphasis on quality. As a senior team member, the role requires a willingness to cross train others when necessary and to work with vendors to integrate solutions or systems.

Qualifications

Experience Required :

Minimum of three years\' experience as a Senior Network Engineer within an enterprise environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Extensive experience and understanding of Layer 2 protocols, Software Defined Infrastructure, VLAN technologies, GWANs, VPNs, routing concepts, application load balancers, Network Access Control (NAC), wireless networks, network design and implementation, and Cisco secure network solutions (including Cisco ISE, Cisco Spaces, and Catalyst Centre).
Proficient in working within a Microsoft environment.
Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving WAN and LAN issues, including wireless networks, within a complex and fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of network security risks, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
Working knowledge of network-based intrusions and protocol anomalies.
Capable of analyzing system growth and providing capacity planning forecasts.
Responsible for managing and monitoring network security across LAN and WAN endpoints.
The job entails working standby and after-hours support for networking issues, including using a personal phone to receive alerts and remain contactable by the team and management.
Experience in cabling management (CAT6, fibre, etc.).
Responsible for daily maintenance and resolution of assigned service desk calls within agreed SLAs.
Excellent inter personal skills at different levels within the organization.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to design, deploy, maintain, monitor, support, and manage changes across all customer and core services within the company\'s portfolio, such as firewalls, telephony, WAN, and LAN.

In addition, this role is responsible for assisting with new deployments, as well as upgrades, downgrades, and structured change requests on existing services. Deliver and assist with new deployments, service activations, upgrades, and downgrades.

Plan, document, and execute changes under formal change control processes, including risk assessment, stakeholder communication, approval, and rollback planning.

Work closely with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve critical faults and ensure service continuity.
