Production Manager – Meat Processsing
Johannesburg | R70 000 – R75 000 (CTC per month)
Are you an experienced Production Manager with a strong background in meat processing or chilled food manufacturing?
We’re looking for a results‑driven leader to oversee our deboning operations, ensuring maximum yield, top‑quality output, and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the deboning team to achieve daily production and quality targets.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules, staffing, and workflow efficiency.
- Monitor product quality, yield, and waste implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Oversee maintenance, hygiene, and compliance with HACCP and GMP standards.
- Track KPIs and report on production performance.
- Manage departmental costs, rosters, and resource planning.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence across the team.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-volume chilled food or meat processing environment.Proven people management experience in a unionized setting.Strong knowledge of meat cuts, processing methods, hygiene, and waste control.Certificate or Diploma in Production Management (or related field).Experience as a Blockman or Butcher will be advantageous.Skills & Attributes
