JOB TITLE : MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS LEAD
LOCATION : CAPE TOWN
REPORTS TO : COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
ROLE PURPOSE :
The Marketing & Communications Lead is responsible for strengthening, protecting, and growing the Afrikelp brand across local and international markets. This role drives brand visibility, effective marketing execution, and close alignment with the Commercial & Science teams to drive business growth and strengthen Afrikelp’s reputation as a global leader in sustainable seaweed-based biostimulants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Management & Positioning
- Execute Afrikelp’s brand strategy in line with company objectives.
- Ensure consistent brand identity across all communication platforms and global markets.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide positioning, messaging and growth strategies.
Marketing & Communication
Plan, execute and evaluate marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities.Manage digital channels including website content, social media and online campaigns to strengthen brand visibility and engagement.Oversee the design of marketing materials such as brochures, packaging, presentations, and PR content.Coordinate and manage Afrikelp’s participation in trade shows, conferences, and industry events.Commercial & Business Support
Provide the commercial team with marketing tools, content and training support.Support distributor and partner networks with localised brand and marketing material.Promotional items management and procurement.Event planning and coordination.Track and reconcile marketing budget and expense.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
Increased brand awareness and market share in target regions.Measurable ROI on marketing campaigns and activities.Quality and impact of commercial support (measured through lead generation, distributor feedback, and sales team input).Consistency and professionalism of brand messaging across all channels.Successful delivery of product launches, events, and customer engagement activities.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Agriculture, or related field.3+ years’ experience in brand management or marketing, preferably in agriculture / biostimulants.Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics, & CRM systems (Monday.com will be an advantage).Creative thinker with strong analytical ability and commercial awareness.Please apply by sending a copy of your CV through the LinkedIn portal.
