Business Development Manager – FNB South Africa

The role is focused on driving business growth in partnership with Private Advisors and FNB Commercial Financial Advisors. The incumbent will deliver strategy, project‑manage business development initiatives, and ensure delivery of the portfolio’s key objectives. Critical outputs include identifying leads, supporting campaigns, and building relationships within assigned regions.
Responsibilities
- Provide first‑line support on escalations that exceed turnaround time.
- Manage all segment leadership requests.
- Report on challenges within regions and manage expectations.
- Oversee the full engagement process from quote submission to completion.
- Proactively support lead usage and assist with opportunity hunting through advisor tools.
- Drive campaign management in the region, including launch, tracking, and momentum maintenance.
- Track and contribute to the attainment of the monthly budget, reporting progress and devising strategies to close target gaps.
- Analyse and develop implementation plans against the forecasted financial budget.
- Develop tactical budgets for the area of responsibility, minimizing expenditure and managing costs.
- Build relationships to manage expectations, share knowledge, and foster buy‑in.
- Co‑lead initiatives to upskill and coach front‑line advisors on effective upselling.
- Implement practices that build service delivery excellence and efficiency.
- Model and coach behaviors that nurture rewarding relationships, encourage innovation, and promote exceptional customer service.
- Maintain expert knowledge of relevant legislative amendments and industry best practices, advising stakeholders as needed.
- Support corporate governance, compliance, integrity, and ethics policies, identifying and managing risk exposure.
- Participate in relevant management forums and cascade information through the team.
- Identify opportunities across the business by grouping similar projects to reuse enterprise capabilities and improve efficiencies.
Qualifications
BCom Degree or related qualification.Investment and long‑term insurance experience.3–5 years in a broker consultant role.CFP qualification preferred.Experience working on a platform such as LISP – Linked Investment Service Provider.Benefits
